St. Patty’s Day at Put-in-Bay Set For Cleveland Boat Show

ARRRRRGH! Get ready all ye swashbucklers because the pirates will again be making their way to the 2022 Progressive Cleveland Boat Show in the I-X Center, March 17-20. But this time they might be sportin’ some green because show opening night is also St. Patrick’s Day.

Traditionally, the Put-in-Bay exhibits and activities are the spotlight features for every opening night at the boat show. Because of the date change from January to March, the opening night’s theme this year will be St. Patty’s Day at Put-in-Bay!

Every year at the show we celebrate summer life in our unique Lake Erie Islands. As always, everyone will be sipping the iconic Lobster Bisque from the Boardwalk brought in fresh daily from The Bay. And, special for this year’s opening night, the first 1,000 visitors will receive a Shamrock Necklaces to mark the occasion, plus there will be a giveaway of Jet Express & Miller Ferry passes and 100 “Boardwalk Dollars!” But it doesn’t end there.

On Sunday, which has been declared “Family FunDay,” the team from Put-in-Bay will challenge kids to a Pyrate Treasure Hunt. It’s a fun event in which young and old can follow a Treasure Map leading to certain flags placed around the show The Treasure Hunt ends at, where else – the Put-in-Bay area. There, kids who have correctly identified all six flags locations will take home a Pyrate Fest Bag and the parents can mark their calendars to come to the fest on June 24-26th.

Adjacent to the Put-in-Bay area is the Great Lawn where kids can play games like cornhole and Quattro while parents take a break with food and beverages from the show’s first-ever Food Truck Rally. Kids are also a special focus of the day in the “Kids Zone” with such activities as Bailey VanKirk’s original 24-foot “Minnow Mural”; a giant “Chart Puzzle” of the Lake Erie Islands; the “Nautical Flags Alphabet Wall”; a daily Magic Show; the movie MOANA playing on the main stage; and a special Kids Giveaway of 100 fishing poles & youth t-shirts at the Vic’s Sports Center-sponsored 5000-gallon Berkeley Bass Tank at 1:00pm.

Make sure to stop by the Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Table to sign up for our newsletter and receive a free pair of sunglasses while supplies last!  Time to plan your Every Day Island Getaway and plan your one tank to the ferry vacation while at the show.

Show dates and hours for 2022 will be: Thursday & Friday, March 17-18: Noon – 9 pm;  Saturday March 19: 10 am – 9 pm; and Sunday March 20, 10 am – 5 pm. For the latest show schedules and get Advance Discount Tickets, go to: www.clevelandboatshow.com
