I-LYA Power Regatta on Lake Erie at Put-in-Bay, Ohio. The Put-in-Bay Yacht Club hosts the annual regatta activities.
The regatta kicks off with dockage available at noon on July 22. Opening ceremonies, games and food and beverage follow. Regatta events including docking, chicane, flying mile and predictive log. The Junior Power Regatta includes safe boating, navigation, weather prediction, and fishing. The event also includes softball, volleyball, putt-putt, and golf for those who are competitive on shore as well as on the water.

Amphicar Days at Put-in-Bay: A Nostalgic Display of Unique Vehicles

Experience the charm of the 1960s at Put-in-Bay’s Amphicar Days, taking place on July 27-28, 2026. This annual event celebrates the iconic Amphicar, a remarkable amphibious vehicle from the space age. Join us for a gathering of these rare “swimming sportscars” and witness their fascinating capabilities. The Amphicars will gather on Monday, July 29th at 11:00 at the boat launch near The Keys in downtown Put-in-Bay.  Watch as they drive into the water and head over to Middle Bass Island.  They’ll return to The Keys parking lot later in the afternoon for spectators to have an up close and personal look at these unique cars/boats!  It’s a unique opportunity to step back in time and enjoy the nostalgia and innovation of the 1960s. I-LYA Sail Regatta has been an island tradition for over 100 years at Put-in-Bay. Put-in-Bay welcomes this annual sailing tradition based at Put-in-Bay Yacht Club.

The Inter-Lake Yachting Association extends an invitation to join the Regatta at Put-in-Bay, Ohio. The events begin with sail racing from Cleveland, Detroit, Sandusky, and Toledo. Races finish at the island. That afternoon the Sail Regatta will kick off with opening ceremonies and food and beverages in the tent. Around the island races will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday with additional races pending wind conditions. In addition to PHRF, JAM and Cruising courses, there is also a Centerboard Course which will run a dedicated start for any class with at least five boats. Declaration 250 — August 1–2, 2026 | Perry’s Victory & International Peace Memorial, Put-in-Bay

Join us at Put-in-Bay for Declaration 250, a special event recognizing the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, held in conjunction with the nationwide America 250 celebration. Taking place at the historic Perry’s Victory & International Peace Memorial, this two-day commemoration will honor America’s founding ideals and the continued pursuit of liberty and unity.

The event will feature ceremonies, guest speakers, living-history reenactments, educational programs, and family-friendly activities designed to engage and inspire visitors of all ages. As one of the key sites in the national America 250 initiative, Put-in-Bay is proud to host this historic celebration on the shores of Lake Erie — a fitting setting that honors both America’s independence and its legacy of peace.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Ohio Sea Grant, The Ohio State University Stone Laboratory, along with many education partners across South Bass Island, will host Lake Erie Awareness Day on Aug. 6, 2026, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at five locations, including Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial, the DUFF Homestead, the Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center, South Bass Island State Park, and the newly renovated ODNR Aquatic Visitor Center This free, family-friendly event will highlight the cultural and historic significance of the islands, address pressing environmental issues such as aquatic invasive species and plastic pollution, draw attention to land conservation efforts, showcase island wildlife, and create more awareness of aquaculture and safe and clean boating programs. Island residents, families, and visitors are encouraged to attend. Event attendees can spend the day touring South Bass Island while learning about Ohio’s greatest water resource and visiting education stations to learn about island history, native plants and animals, the dangers of plastic pollution, and boating safety.
