Join the excitement at the annual I-LYA Power Regatta, hosted by Put-in-Bay Yacht Club. This multi-day event brings boaters together for friendly competition, navigation contests, social gatherings, and family-friendly fun on Lake Erie. A tradition loved by boaters for generations.

I-LYA Power Regatta on Lake Erie at Put-in-Bay, Ohio. The Put-in-Bay Yacht Club hosts the annual regatta activities.
The regatta kicks off with dockage available at noon on July 22. Opening ceremonies, games and food and beverage follow. Regatta events including docking, chicane, flying mile and predictive log. The Junior Power Regatta includes safe boating, navigation, weather prediction, and fishing. The event also includes softball, volleyball, putt-putt, and golf for those who are competitive on shore as well as on the water.

Amphicar Days at Put-in-Bay: A Nostalgic Display of Unique Vehicles

Amphicar Days returns to Put-in-Bay July 27–28, 2026, bringing a rare collection of vintage amphibious vehicles to the island.

Watch as these classic “cars that drive on water” launch from the boat ramp near The Keys in downtown Put-in-Bay and cruise across Lake Erie to Middle Bass Island. They return later in the day, giving spectators a chance to see them up close in the parking lot.

This unique event draws enthusiasts and curious visitors alike for a fun, nostalgic look at one of the most unusual vehicles ever made.

Come join us as we host OSU Extension Erie County for a Wild Tuesday! This weeks educational nature-themed program is all about the invasive Spotted Lanternfly. This event is free to the public and will be held on the back porch of the LEINWC.

Experience island tradition at the I-LYA Senior Sail Regatta, hosted by Put-in-Bay Yacht Club. For over 100 years, this exciting race weekend has welcomed sailors and spectators to enjoy skillful sailing, lake breezes, and vibrant island camaraderie each summer.

I-LYA Sail Regatta has been an island tradition for over 100 years at Put-in-Bay. Put-in-Bay welcomes this annual sailing tradition based at Put-in-Bay Yacht Club.

The Inter-Lake Yachting Association extends an invitation to join the Regatta at Put-in-Bay, Ohio. The events begin with sail racing from Cleveland, Detroit, Sandusky, and Toledo. Races finish at the island. That afternoon the Sail Regatta will kick off with opening ceremonies and food and beverages in the tent. Around the island races will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday with additional races pending wind conditions. In addition to PHRF, JAM and Cruising courses, there is also a Centerboard Course which will run a dedicated start for any class with at least five boats. The Notice of Race and Registration can be found on Yacht Scoring.

The Lake Erie Islands Historical Society Museum will host Ohio’s seven traveling banners detailing Ohio’s contributions to the American Dream since 1776. Ohio became a state in 1803 but made significant contributions as a territory prior. Come to the museum for an early reveal of these banners. Enjoy wine and appetizers while learning more about the history of Ottawa County.

This three-day event honors the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with ceremonies, reenactments, and family-friendly activities celebrating America’s history and unity.

Join us at Put-in-Bay for Declaration 250, a special event recognizing the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, held in conjunction with the nationwide America 250 celebration. Taking place at the historic Perry’s Victory & International Peace Memorial, this two-day commemoration will honor America’s founding ideals and the continued pursuit of liberty and unity.

The event will feature ceremonies, guest speakers, living-history reenactments, educational programs, and family-friendly activities designed to engage and inspire visitors of all ages. As one of the key sites in the national America 250 initiative, Put-in-Bay is proud to host this historic celebration on the shores of Lake Erie — a fitting setting that honors both America’s independence and its legacy of peace.

The Lake Erie Islands Historical Society Museum will host Ohio’s seven traveling banners detailing Ohio’s contributions to the American Dream since 1776. Ohio became a state in 1803 but made significant contributions as a territory prior. The banners will be set up by Ottawa County-America 250 representatives the day prior to the 250th Anniversary of the signing on August 1. The banners will remain on display through September 7. South Bass Island (Put-in-Bay), LEIHS’s hometown was instrumental in Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry’s defeat of the British in the Battle of Lake Erie on September 10, 1813.

Museum on Sunday, August 2, 2026, to sign the Official LEIHS’s Declaration of
Independence Ledger commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the
Declaration of Independence. Signers will receive a commemorative copy of the
Declaration of Independence that includes a signature line and notation it was signed at
the LEIHS Museum on August 2, 2026, as well s a souvenir sticker that proclaims “I
Signed” with LEIHS name and America 250-OH logo. LEIHS’s oldest sitting board
member (25 years), Maggie Beckford, is a six-generation great-granddaughter of Philip
Livingston, a prominent signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Come join us as we host Back to the Wild for a Wild Tuesday! This weeks educational nature-themed program is all about backyard wildlife. This event is free to the public and will be held on the back porch of the LEINWC.
