The Skellies are taking over Put-in-Bay!
Grab your friends, put together a team and get ready to explore the island during the 2026 Put-in-Bay Skelly Hunt. This year, we’re introducing a new hunt format designed to make the adventure even more fun — including official numbered Skellies, secret verification codes, geographic hunting zones and FIVE elusive Golden Skellies!
There are 50 Official Skellies waiting to be discovered throughout Put-in-Bay.
Each Skelly has its own clue. Solve the clue to determine where it’s hiding, then head out and find it.
Once you locate an Official Skelly, look for its numbered Skelly Hunt tag and secret code. Record the code on your official hunt sheet as proof that you found the correct Skelly.
No more wondering, “Is this the right skeleton?” If it has the official Skelly Hunt tag, you found it!
To make navigating the island easier, the 50 Skellies will be divided into geographic hunting zones.
Your clue sheet will tell you which general area of Put-in-Bay to search, but figuring out the exact location is still up to you!
Tackle one zone at a time, split up your strategy or try to conquer the entire island.
You do not have to find all 50 Skellies to participate or win.
Your completed hunt determines how many entries you receive into the prize drawings:
10 Skellies Found — 1 Prize Entry
20 Skellies Found — 2 Prize Entries
30 Skellies Found — 3 Prize Entries
40 Skellies Found — 4 Prize Entries
ALL 50 SKELLIES — 5 Prize Entries + Entry into the Grand Prize Drawing
Whether you spend an hour hunting or make it your mission to find every Skelly on the island, you have a chance to win!
Think finding 50 is enough?
Not this year.
Hidden around Put-in-Bay will be FIVE GOLDEN SKELLIES.
These special bonus Skellies are separate from the regular hunt and will be among the toughest Skellies to track down.
Each Golden Skelly you successfully find earns additional bonus prize entries.
Find one? Nice work.
Find all five? You’ve officially earned Skelly Hunt bragging rights.
Keep your eyes open — they could be hiding almost anywhere!
Only skeletons displaying an Official Skelly Hunt numbered tag count toward your total.
Participants must record the correct secret code from each Skelly they find. Please do not move, reposition, hide, damage or remove any Skelly, numbered tag or secret code.
Be respectful of participating businesses, private property and other Skelly Hunters. Unless specifically stated in a clue, no purchase is necessary to locate a Skelly.
