Miller Ferry Response to COVID-19
March 20, 2020

We miss you, but it will be worth the wait

A message from the community of Put-in-Bay 4/29/2020

Dear friends, Island businesses have been getting your calls, emails and reading your supportive social media posts, thank you. We want you to know that our heartfelt wish is to welcome you back to Put-in-Bay this summer.

The one thing we know for certain right now is that State of Ohio guidelines and CDC advice on reopening are being revised daily. While the Ohio Stay at Home order remains in place, we are getting ready, bringing over supplies and safe guards needed to ensure your next trip to Put-in-Bay is memorable and safe.

Only residents, property owners, essential businesses and service providers are allowed to come here while the Ohio Stay at Home order is in effect. Important island businesses like the hardware, general Store, post office and gas station remain open but with reduced hours. The village docks, state parks, public bathrooms, dine in restaurants, bars and lodging facilities (except for those supporting essential workers) all are closed. We have no doctors, no medical facilities, and limited evacuation options available for COVID-19 presenting patients. But island days are ahead.

Just like you, our island community is poised, patiently awaiting the reopening of Put-in-Bay for the summer season. When the time is right, it is our promise to you is we are doing everything we can to make sure that your visit will be safe, family friendly and fun. From the moment you board the ferry to the island, visit a retail shop, enjoy a meal, walk through our downtown, you will be confident that your health and safety is our top priority. So plan now to visit us later, it will be worth the wait.
